A paper sheeter machine combines high-speed rotating components, cutting systems, rollers, electrical equipment, and moving paper. For operators, production efficiency is important, but machine safety must always come first.

The CHM-1400 paper sheeter machine is equipped with multiple safety protection systems designed to reduce the risk of cutting, entanglement, crushing, and electrical accidents. Here are the eight key safety barriers operators should understand.

1. Emergency Stop System

Multiple red mushroom-head emergency stop buttons are installed around the machine, including the main control panel and auxiliary operating positions. In an emergency, pressing an emergency stop immediately stops the machine's cutting and transmission functions. Operators should know the location of every emergency stop button and test its function before each shift.

2. Safety Guards and Interlock System

High-risk areas such as the cutting section, pressure rollers, and transmission rollers are protected by enclosed guards with safety interlocks. If a guard is opened during operation, the safety circuit is activated and the machine stops. Guards must never be removed, blocked, or bypassed.

3. Cutting Tool Protection

The cutting system includes dedicated locking mechanisms and protective covers around the cutting area. Warning labels remind operators to keep their hands away from the cutting zone. Blade replacement and maintenance must only be performed after the machine has been stopped and the main power has been disconnected.

4. Electrical Safety Protection

The electrical system includes protection against overload, short circuits, and electrical leakage. The control cabinet carries electrical hazard warnings, and proper grounding must be maintained. Electrical maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel after the main power is disconnected.

5. Tension Control System

Stable web tension helps prevent paper breakage and reduces the risk of loose material becoming caught in rollers. Automatic tension control therefore supports both production stability and safer material handling.

6. Automatic Edge Guiding System

The automatic edge guiding system uses optical positioning to correct the paper web during production. Stable web alignment reduces material deviation and minimizes the need for operators to manually adjust paper near moving components.

7. Multi-Position Safety Interlocks

Safety interlocks are applied to critical areas such as guards, lifting platforms, and conveying sections. If a required safety condition is not satisfied, the machine is prevented from performing the corresponding operation.

8. Safety Warning Labels

Safety labels are placed on the machine body, guards, electrical cabinet, and operating panel. They identify hazards such as cutting areas, moving belts, electrical risks, and prohibited operations. These labels must remain visible and undamaged.
