For paper converting plants, four basic maintenance actions should become part of the daily routine: cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and visual checking.

1. Clean the Machine
Paper dust and small scraps can accumulate around the cutting section, rollers, conveyors, sensors, and other moving components. Remove accumulated dust and debris regularly to reduce contamination and help sensors and moving parts operate reliably.

2. Inspect Key Components
Check cutting knives, rollers, belts, bearings, fasteners, and other frequently used components. Look for abnormal wear, looseness, damage, or unusual movement. Early detection can prevent a minor mechanical problem from becoming a production stoppage.

3. Lubricate as Required
Follow the machine manufacturer's lubrication schedule. Apply the specified lubricant to components that require regular lubrication, using the correct type and quantity. Over-lubrication is not a substitute for proper maintenance and can also cause problems.

4. Make a Visual Check
Before starting production, take a quick look at the machine. Check for oil leakage, unusual marks, loose parts, damaged cables, abnormal roller conditions, or anything that looks different from normal operation.
Ten minutes of daily maintenance cannot guarantee that a machine will last three years longer. However, consistent preventive maintenance
can reduce avoidable wear, detect problems earlier, and help maintain stable machine performance over the long term.
